The game is pretty simple, resembling a walking simulator, but with puzzles and generally speaking alot of more actual content, then your average walking sim. Looks: 10/10Gameplay: 8/10Story: Havent finished it yetSoundtrack: 9/10Glitches so far: Only a few visual glitches, mostly in the HUD.. Great game ok. what a great time! Broken Reality is the first (fully released) game to take the 'vaporwave' aesthetic use it as a tool and a world and a design philosophy, rather than an audio/visual 'skin' for a half-baked game. the vaporwave aesthetic is a very specific set of colors, images, and sounds from a very specific era used in a very specific way, but this is the closest analog to Tron (a dystopic fantasy world inside a computer filled with trash) that today's internet has. if you want the REAL world inside the computer you'll have to dig into some much more disgusting and hate-filled corners.broken reality is the only game in which the irritating movement quirk many worse games have, wherein moving diagonally is noticeably faster than just pressing forward, is totally okay and justified and don't change a thing pleaseextremely good games to which I'd liken Broken Reality:1) Mario Odyssey - both take place in a series of ecclectic worlds in which you have a very specific tool/movement set with which to explore them, and the basic thrust of the game involves searching every nook and cranny of every world, and talking to nice weirdos who have things they'd like you to help them with~2) Anachronox - one of my favorite games of all time (im broken), both games refuse to take any mechanical/narrative element of their world for granted - the main story of Anachronox is fascinating and fun, but the real magic of the game is the little (text-only) interactions with side characters that explore the nature of the world3) The Hex - recently released, both games have to do with an author's creation taking on a life of its own, often to an unsettling degreeMy biggest (and still minor) gripe about the game is the Bookmarker's controls - having the left mouse button be both place and teleport is extremely counter-intuitive and made me lose progress many many times - there's no real reason to delete a bookmark (but it could be bound to a separate key), and i'd really really really love at least the option of having left mouse button Always be place/overwrite bookmark, and right mouse button be warp!!! I would also extremely dig it if we could use the mouse wheel to change tools.buy broken reality at its full and reasonable price so dynamic media triad can keep making good messed up worlds for us to explore!!!!. 10/10] This is great on every level. Reminds me of LSD Simulator in a way. The fact that this game didn't get me bored at all was something I was looking for in games for a long time. Especially seeing a Vaporwave-themed game like this is kind of a dream come true. Great puzzles and great story! I love it! Great job devs!One more thing (don't read if you haven't beaten the game!) WHAT AN ENDING THAT WAS, TRIPPY AS HELL! Made me uncomfortable but holy♥♥♥♥♥♥ The part where the graphics get realistic and then it just goes full trippy got me weirded out and amazed me at the same time. Again, INSANE ENDING!. Broken Reality was a fantastic and wonderful adventure that I desperately didn't want to end.Fantastic music, incredible vaporwave visuals and everything about the game was just a joy to me.I think this is just one of those games that are a must have experiance on steam and it's worth it's price for sure and even the soundtrack is worth it.This is for people who love vapor wave and cyberpunk aesthetics.I cannot recommend Broken reality enough.I never expected it to be as fun as it was.A very pleasent SurpriseThank you so much to Vinny from Vinesauce for playing this game and making me want to buy it so badly and finally playing it and finishing it.. I would buy a VR headset instantly if this was compatible. I use to love listen vaporwave on youtube, I love memes images, AND i love facebook. This game got it all is like a facebook simulator in a world of internet. I love the charm detail by adding some easter eggs in the game. This game also reminds me of LSD Dream Simulator on PS1 except that this game does it right by adding objectives and quest.I highly recommend to people who really wants something to kick back and relax, and play this game. Its worth it! Its relaxing (or all out creeped out by the muscle guy dancing on epic sax guy music meme)My only comment is that:1. hope the developer fix the elevator way out from seeing the first Admin in the 1st world. Because I have to restart the game 3 times and use the teleporter item to mark my way out earlier before seeing him then use my item to exit out. Other than that the game is a smooth sailing2. PLEASE ADD THE OST MUSIC OF YOUR GAME ITS SO GOOD I LOVE VAPORWAVE MUSICS I WOULD BUY YOUR SOUNDTRACK!!!!. An absolute trip of a game. You'd think this is just some silly joke game weighly heavily on internet memes and... a e s t h e t i c s... But while it's absolutely internet memes and vaporwave aesthetics through and through, it actually does some very cool things and turns what could've been a low-effort joke like a lot of other vaporwave-inspired games on Steam into an hours-long romp through several visually diverse, sprawling worlds with quirky NPCs, neat little puzzles, clever references from your glassware shop called Blaze Runner to real obscure stuff like Air Control's, "Do you know what does it mean?" to a handful of nods to Vinesauce streams in random generic NPC dialogue.It's a love/hate letter to the internet, wrapped in vibrant, visually overloading flair that you either are endeared to or find headache-inducing. For my part I really like what the game does graphically, I like crazy 80s popart, neon aesthetic, cyberpunk, the works, and that's what's on display here. Each world is thematically cohesive as a mix of Vaporwave album covers; environments designed by tearing up Windows 98 software interfaces and turning them into walls, stairs, bridges, you name it, classical sculptures and ancient ruins loom next to tropical paradises dotted with palm trees. It's weird and I like it!World design on the whole works well and maintains a sense of exploration and progression, unlocking new tools and upgrades to unveil new places or remove previously encountered roadblocks is satisfying, and the different sections of each map feel distinct enough so that I never felt I was lost except maybe in GeoCity where the streets can blend together until you've been through them a few times.For music, you should know what you're getting into. The game opens to muffled, stretched out and reverberating sounds of dial-up, and proceeds into all sorts of fun electronic, lo-fi, vaporwave, chillwave, whatever you want to call it, it's nice music to relax to and explore some psychadelic, Windows 98 era worlds. For my part there's enough enjoyable listening that I'd probably grab an OST if it became available at any point, or search it up on Youtube at the least. The mall in the first area got particularly stuck in my head.In the end, there's a surprising amount of substance here, more than I even anticipated a concept like this would provide, and it's some high quality work for what it's doing. I was pleasantly surprised at how much further the game went after leaving the first area, and making it to the final area takes a good eye and lots of curiosity, leaving no stone unturned. It felt earned to hit the end credits, and the game delivered some appropriately fascinating final act-type stuff that I didn't anticipate seeing from a game that you'd expect to be acting as complementary interactive experience for a high person.The less said about the closing minutes of the game, the better, not proclaiming the game's gonna blow your mind with story, but it did its job as an audio/visual journey commendably and ends on a high note. As a vaporwave-loving nerd, I was smitten the whole way through..
